CRAZY HALLOWEEN

My classroom door is labeled with this sign...

I currently have 21 "crazies" in my class.

I took my student's pictures and distorted them on the computer to look...well...crazy.

The kids LOVED it. It took me at least five minutes just to get them through the door that first morning. But I guess that was the point.

Happy Halloween ya'all.

AUTUMN IDAHO

We have been on countless drives up north to catch the changing leaves with my camera. However, I haven't found a more beautiful autumn than that of ten minutes from my home. The new school year has made it difficult to focus on any photography lately, but I just had to drop everything one Saturday morning before the season passed me by. I got lost for hours exploring this incredible wilderness. The entire world looked like a painting from Bambi-land. All of my favorites are on my photography blog {link is on the top of the right-hand column of this blog -->} Check 'em out and tell me what you think.

WHAT A VIEW

On my way out from work the other day and...

I had to take a picture. I LOVE working at a little country school.

JIM BRICKMAN

If you've ever listened to that oh-so-romantic radio show, 'Delilah', then you've heard of Jim Brickman. I swear, all wedding songs are written by this man. Anyway, he made a concert stop at BYU-I. The piano is my favorite instrument to listen to, so I bought tickets.

Andrew was a wonderful sport: He held my hand, stayed awake 'til the end (basically), and pretended to enjoy it very much. It turned out to be an awesome show and much-needed night out.

WORD TO THE WISE (FROM THE UNWISE)

NEVER pick a fight with one of these, because...

YOU WILL LOSE!
This evil contraption will haunt you in your dreams, and make you literally shudder each time you use it in the future. Not to mention, you will forever hold scars as proof of your idiocy.

COMPANY LOGO

.
.
Andrew is working on getting his own business started. He's building a wrecker shop and office building in Shelley, ID, and wants to get a sign made to put in front of it as an advertisement. Our first order of business is to pick a company name.
.
.
.
.
Andrew's first idea was AR Construction (as in Andrew-Rachel Construction). I was a big fan of the logo he made, and I told him that it was a very romantic gesture to use his wife's name(i love him). However, I thought he should experiment with using his last name instead. I know everyone seems to just insert their last name before the word "construction", but I am of the opinion that using the not-so-common name of Ashmore will be more memorable. It might be smart to have his name synonymous to and immediately associated with the company as well.
.
.
.
.
As a result, Andrew made up this logo option as well. We're thinking of coloring the logo an earth friendly hunter green instead of blue. Apparently, there is a big push for "green" building these days.

Anyway, what do all you bloggers think? Which one catches your eye, sticks in your brain, and looks more professional? All suggestions welcome!

Momma Chefs

Some friends and I started a recipe blog! Being a Mormon housewife, I figured it was only appropriate. We swap recipes and try out one another's favorites. If you're into that sort of thing, you should totally check it out. {Click on the picture}

.
I didn't pick the name, so just overlook the fact that I don't happen to be a "momma" quite yet. *sigh*

LIFE'S SECRETS UNLOCKED IN IDAHO GARDEN

We like to take walks. I especially like to walk past this house down the road from us. It is so charming! The little old lady who lives here puts so much time and effort into the yard. She is ALWAYS out in her gardens.

Pretty gardens.

This sign is on one side of the house.
What is the key, you ask?

.
.

Can you see the heart?
(Those shadows are of Andrew and I doing just that: being in love)

BYU BIRTHDAY

Andrew had a birthday coming up...

...So, I bought and taped these tickets to the bathroom mirror for him to find. Both of us have seen BYU play ASU down in Arizona...but never here at home in the Lavell Edwards Stadium. I think I was as excited as Andrew was.

Waiting for the game to start and so happy to be here!

I knew nothing about where the best seats were in this stadium, so I was pleased to see once we got there, that we were in one of the few sections with a back to lean against...and most importantly...it was in the shade for 98% of the game. (Coming from Rexburg, we wore our pants and even brought sweatshirts just in case. Who knew it would be SO BLAZING HOT just a few hours south?!)

They put on a fabulous show beforehand. Now, I love the small town, personal feel of BYU-Idaho...but the atmosphere and energy in Provo was, I have to admit, very exciting. I can see why people are so proud to be apart of this school!

Max Hall (quarterback) warming up.

Wouldn't you know it...the two largest spectators in the entire stadium sat directly in front of little 'ol me.

It didn't ruin much of my fun though. Check out the
score board after the first quarter! Yay BYU!

Bronco himself watching poor Colorado State miss a field goal. (Isn't the zoom on my camera AWESOME?)
.
.
Andrew...pretty pleased with his BYU program.
.
.
Big fan of this picture. Such a beautiful stadium.
.
.
I had to zoom in on the mountain backdrop behind the stadium. Fall is upon us!
.
.
.
The next day, we took a little drive up through nearby canyons to enjoy the changing colors. (Can you see Andrew down there?)
.
.
As we drove home to Idaho, the hillsides were on FIRE!
.
.
.
To celebrate Andrew's actual birthday on Monday, we built ourselves a whole batch of mini homemade pizzas. So yummy, so easy, and so fun! Whatever we couldn't eat that night, we threw in the freezer for easy lunches later on.
.
.
For dessert, we each had a slice of heaven, a.k.a, peanut butter cup cheesecake. Ooh yeah...
Happy #25, babe!
