the school year has been cut an entire week.

It was something about budget cuts... saving a hundred grand...and other blah blah blah. All I heard, though, was that the last day of school would be May 27th rather than June 4th. And I still get paid for it. I cannot even begin to express just how okay I am with this change in plans.

That's awesome! I think teachers are even more excited for summer than the students are :)
Happy birthday! I can't think of a better birthday gift than to get out of school a week earlier than anticipated, especially if you will still be paid for it!
