THE LAST LITTLE WHILE

.
.
.

1)

About a week ago, this is what it looked like from our front stoop at about 4:30 in the afternoon. The sun was bright red, the sky was a sinister black, and the light peeking through our windows from outside was an eerie orangy glow. It looked like the end of the world.

.

.

I found the next two pictures on the Internet (I am still kicking myself for not thinking to go up the hill to take these pictures of the temple myself). The wind was blasting upwards 50mph, and if you didn't know any better, you'd think their was the storm of the century blowing in.

.

.

A wildfire had started not too far from here, before the high winds quickly set it burning out of of control. The blaze spread to 109,000 acres before everything was said. In the meantime, Rexburg enjoyed some incredible skies and potent campfire smells.

.

.

2.) At about 9pm on Friday night, Andrew and I were anxious to go on a date. But what is there to do in Rexburg, with limited funds, at such a late hour? We walked to Wal-Mart to look at stuff. It was a long walk, but the evening was an enjoyable one.

.

That is until I wandered into this aisle and saw the BACK TO SCHOOL sale set up. It can't be that time already!

Please, NOOOOO!!

I can't remember if I shouted this internally with my entire being or out loud at the top of my lungs. Hmmm. I'm guessing I haven't fully recovered from the previous school year yet.

.

.

3.)

We took our boat out to Ririe Reservoir. It was a whopping 93 degrees on a Saturday, so the place was packed with other boats.

.

.

We forgot about the five dollar parking fee until we had already arrived. We frantically foraged around the truck and miraculously, found EXACTLY five dollars in quarters. We figured such a miraculous moment was worth documenting.

.

.Our little boat was rather zippy with just the two of us. We probably would have lost a race with any other boat on the lake that day...but zippy all the same.

.

.

We traveled along through the canyon, until we came to a nice grassy knoll on which to eat out lunch.

.

Aww...Look at out our little boat just sitting there on the beach! SO precious.

.

.We relaxed on our grassy knoll for several hours: watching boats speed past, eating sandwiches, and reading in the shade.
.

.

Then, we went back out on the boat and found ourselves a private, floating dock. We swam back and forth between the dock and the nearby rocky cliffs just enjoying the perfect summer afternoon.

.

Blinding sun, hot breeze, sparkling water, sunscreen, farmer's tans, refreshing swim, slippery rocks, goosebumps, sunburn, choppy waves, circling osprey, and bobbing boat.
