.
Every year, our class writes what they are thankful for on construction paper leaves, and arranges them on our thankful tree. Of course there are the usual and expected:
I am thankful for...
- my family
 - friends
 - mom
 - dad
 - Mrs. Ashmore
 - school

But being from a predominately LDS community, our tree also holds leaves that say:
I am thankful for...
- the scriptures
 - the temple
 - Heavenly Father
 - Jesus
 - the church

And then there are the unique ones that remind why I just love these kids:
I am thankful for...
- ME!
 - A voice
 - doughnuts
 - milk and water
 - flowers in my yard
 - a birthday
 - sports
 - turkeys
 - Pokemon cards
